2015's 1st Trip to +853

DAY 1

So I'm finally gonna start blogging about Macau, but because there are way too many pictures. It's gonna be a long post. So,I'll be splitting my entries up! I know Macau is a little boring for some people. But it meant a lot to me because it's my first trip of the year with my mum, sis and aunt. And i did lotsa research before flying off! Because i do believe beside Casino, Macau do have a lot of beautiful place, nice food etc...

So yea, We flew off on a Thursday morning, 6am, and the flight was planned to reach Macau at 9 plus 10 so we could have the full day to shop!

I've been a little scared of flying since the chain of unfortunate plane incidents and I was still afraid while booking this trip but decided to go ahead with it anyway since I always believe that everything that's meant to be will be, good or bad. This scary feeling has started since the MH370 incident. Plus the past few weeks, knowing about the Air Asia / Taiwan plane incident which cause so much death and heartache. But well, it's been quite some times since i went overseas with my family and Singapore has been a bit dreary for me, other people, other things.. i needed this break and so yea...
Finally i got to visit Sunflowers Garden! Sneak to this little paradise with both my sis before flying off. It's a little disappointed because the sky was still dark. Nevertheless, i still manage to take a few nice pic. I must visit them again and i promise! And i had no idea why i love Sunflowers. But i really felt extremely happy when i saw all this little yellow sunshine... till now, i still had this little sunshine with me at home...
Do you know sunflowers are the happiest of flowers, and their meanings include loyalty and longevity. No flower can lift spirits quite like sunflower can. Bright and cheery, bold yet comfortable, the sunflower is a warm and caring gift.
I am forever fascinated by the tall stem reaching up into the sky and the bit beautiful brown center is so striking against the yellow petals....they have always intrigued me through out my whole life...
Too pretty. Isn't it?
Okay, enough of my sunflowers...
Pardon my naked face. Cause i really hate to wear make up on place. :(
Reached Macau Airport around 9 plus. Super tired after the sleepless night before flight but excited to explore!
Walked randomly into a food court near our hotel... AND THE FOOD WAS SO BAD, that we force ourselves to finish them. It's cost us SGD 200 Plus for this meal :( I'm not a picky eaters but this taste sucks.
Look at my aunt face and you should know how bad the food was.
Mum said is a must to pay a visit to temple whenever you're oversea. So the first destination is
A-Ma Temple Macau also called Barra Temple.
This temple is located situated halfway up the western slope of Barra Hill. It is the most popular and oldest temple in Macau, dedicated to the Goddess of A-ma, the head shrine of the A-Ma-Gau faith spread over the world. With a history of more than 500 years, it is situated in the picturesque A-Ma cultural village, across from the Maritime Museum.
Saw this huge drum and the first thing that came to my mind is little k!
I miss him so much till i video call him every single day!
And my silly boy cried in the video call and make me sad too. :(
I really hate to go oversea without him.
To be honest, i never once ask for wealth when comes to prayer.
I just hope my loves one will stay healthy and happy.
That's all i'm asking for.

Tbh, i detest ice cream. But ice cream during cold weather is a MUST TRY?
After prayers, we went to explore around & found a lot of nice old building for some #OOTD shot. And i'm pretty sure both my sis got extremely fed up because they had been helping me to take picture the whole entire day. LOL!
Found this Iron man while walking along the street.
Oh Fyi, beside Portuguese egg tarts, Curry fish ball is a must try too!
Both sis & mum
Kiong's Siblings
I'm the oldest, but i'm the shortest.
Back to the hotel to check in as we were too early after arrival.
An hr of rest before heading out again!

This is the 2nd time i visited Macau.
But the previous trip i didn't manage to do a proper research.
So this time round i do & i think i did pretty well cause i actually manage guide them to the places to grab nice food!

Taipa Village!
Don't get cheated by my outfit. It was extremely cold i swear!
That's explain the random scarf that i pulled over till someone told me i look so man...
I really love this place, it's so lively!
Been walking the entire day with Lace up platform boots from SHOPWHATHECLOTHES & It's so comfy!
After the failed breakfast from the food court. Everyone was hoping for a better early dinner. So yea, brought them to
Seng Cheong Restaurant (城昌饭店)!
It is a popular Chinese restaurant located at Rua do Cunha Street in Old Taipa Village. It also serves Frog Leg Congee. We ordered the signature dishes like crab congee, Deep Fried Squid Balls, the Deep Fried Salted Frog Legs,  fried squid balls were quite good but the fried frog legs were sinfully delicious. Fried to a crisp, they are juicy and tasty and I really enjoyed the wonderful flavor of the meat.
We had quite high expectations for the porridge, being the no.1 popular dish of the restaurant, but the porridge was too dilute, not like the Cantonese style congee. But phewwwwwww, the rest of dishes was pretty good! Especially the huge prawns. And i secretly took the last one when no one's looking!
Mum went messing during the dinner and came back with a birthday cake!
Yes, it was my Big aunt's birthday and both my mum & sis surprise her with cake and her favorite bag from one particular store.
I think my ah kim is the only person that understand & can speak canto. So she sang her a birthday song in canto! So hilarious!

I swear this cake is stupendous!
After the scrumptious dinner, everyone went to explore around and look for some nice bakery!

Koi Kei (鉅記) must be the number 1 most popular shop found almost everywhere in Macau. The first shop you see at Cunha street is Koi Kei.

The smell of bbq meat whiffs over once you approach Koi Kei. Their bbq meats is also one of the popular items for souvenirs. Their variety of bbq meats is even more than Bee Cheng Hiang!
The lineup of shops along Cunha street consists mostly of restaurants, cafes and local snacks. Macau seems famous for their durian ice-cream, but we were not in the mood for ice-cream at that time. Hehe
Fong Kei Bakery was also recommended in many of the Macau guidebooks. There were many newspaper clippings of the shop pasted on the walls. Fong Kei is famous for their 肉切酥, or meat filling biscuits, not sure if it is the correct English translation for it.
For me, bakery is not my type. Waiting for the last day to grab them for my friends.
Only accessories shop caught my eyes!
And i have no idea why both me and sis got extremely high when we saw KOI. LOL
Shop around Venetian Hotel as aunt wanna get her Detox foot patches their SASA boutique!
Out for some cold weather! Sucha nice scenery for selfie!
Warning! Tons of selfie/wefie before ending this post!

Called it an early night as I mentioned before cos we were really still very tired from the overnight flight!

 Update with Day 2, 3, 4and 4 sometime soon....
That's all for this entry!
Hope you enjoyed reading it!
